Those thinking about an early 4 pot D4 should consider the number of cars with that engine that suffer from heavy oil consumption, a problem apparently fixed with a revised engine with new pistons and rings from some point in 2016.

So they take the car to Volvo on your behalf?
I very much doubt that. I work about 200 yards from Voltech so i can go round and ask if you want

I really notice the difference, particularly from low revs, which I didn't expect.
Do you have some pictures?

My 2013 XC70 D4 is booked in for the Polestar when I get back. (Price already fixed at the current offer). 163hp to 215hp. Seems a bargain for the 2.4 D4 engine

That's interesting, I was told I had to do it by the end of the week to get the lower rate. Hope it goes well... that is a big HP gain!

Raised the same question but was told as long as it was booked in the offer price would be honoured.

Default new Jetex exhaust

Here's a brief photo of my new exhaust. It has, of course, rained sine the morning of the installation, so will post better photos when I get a chance to clean it and polish it!

I used Superchips for my remap
I have also used Superchip on other car makes and while they are not track day rewrites, they give smooth reasonable extra power without just turning up the fuelling map as lesser rewrite often do. However Polestar have access to the full Volvo ECU technology and their upgrade handles more than just the engine. I believe they also alter autobox gear changing and power steering settings. Plus they are generally acceptable to insurance companies as just a factory Volvo option rather than an engine modification that attracts disproportionate premium hikes or, if not reported, invalidates your insurance.

I guess you could, seeing that you're in such close proximity to them, but I suspect you're correct in your assumption. If you are speaking with them could you also enquire if the RICA tune includes an automatic gearbox optimisation (8 speed VEA D4) as offered with Polestar?

Apologies, Graphnic, for hijacking your thread
