Default 760 Turbo behaving badly

86 760 Turbo B230ET recently developed bad idle and knocks when under load.loosing power Have changed distributor cap & leads with no improvement. I think the problem may be with the fuel injection (monotronic) Help!

Not really enough info - knock could be broken engine mount or something more serious. Bad idle could be air leak or blocked breather.
The two together (depending on type of knock) could be terminal but equally it could just be the possiblities above. Suggest you look at these and post back!

Thanks for the reply Mike. Spent most of the weekend going through the possible causes but it now looks like there is a compression problem on cylinders 2 & 3.Difficult to start and pinks like hell in the middle of the rev range when under load. Suspect that there may be a couple of burt valves in there somewhere.:-( I think its terminal.

No harm in whipping head off - if its done over 150k its probably better to fling in good s/h engine (I've got one). Best of luck!
