Default Amazon Ruddspeed

Hi Ole,
I have a 1965 Amazon Estate, Ruddspeed tuned from new - 'Touring' engine spec. Original bill of sale with Ruddspeed options dated 1965 !!! The car was stored for around twenty five years, needs a little work to get running on the key and minor bodywork attention etc. I have photographs etc, if you're interested - I will give more details.

A ruddspeed can be anything from a high compression head toa fully worked car with carbs cam head work and springs and shocks.I don't think they ever altered the brakes beacuse powerlevels were never taken beyond the brakes abilities.

the above may be helpful.

One or two other points: Ken used to fit a servo to the brakes if the owner insisted, but he always felt that this reduced the feel. Weber'd versions seem to have usually had the servo.

The Ruddspeed exhaust system is still better than anything commercially available today, (and is usually missing). Without this, any other engine mods just won't work as intended.

I've just had a look at my '65 Ruddspeed, and it has a brake servo and tubular exhaust manifold along with a plate on the engine saying Ruddspeed with an engine number stamped on it, also a plate on top of the valve cover saying Ruddspeed Modified !!!
