Whats a good 164 worth these days?
Hello all, please allow me to introduce myself.
Ive grown up with Volvos all my life, mostly 240 GLT estates, so I am quite a fan of these cars,,,,,,,, (sorry to say it all went down hill when I bought an 850 ...) ...... anyway, despite being 10 years or so without a either straight 4 or a straight 6 Volvo, my heart run a little faster when I saw the familiar chrome hubcap and steel wheel of a mid 70's Volvo saloon poking out from under a tarpaulin in a guys garage. Expecting it to be a either a 144/5 or an early 240 my jaw dropped to find a gleaming "Rolls Shadow esque" 164 hiding shyly under its cover. The guy tell me hes driven 70 miles in it in the last three years and due to his age and health he can no longer enjoy it as he used to. So, after a little more investigation and whilst trying to hide my excitement I ask him if he'd consider selling it.......... he says simply "yes"..... It appears that these cars are so rare that I have nothing to compare its value against, so what do you think its worth? A complete, running, driving, roadworthy and very presentable 1975 164E injection. RHD and a UK car from new. Five owners and has covered 105k.
