Default Tablet headrest solution

Thought I would share my solution.
Had north wales trip last week as they opened up and in preparation wanted to find smth to avoid kids needing to hold their tablets.
We all know that volvo headrests are notoriously awkward for all the cheap solutions. Proper solutions other than being very expensive (and I couldn’t get it in time) require me taking iPads out of their padded cases where I permanently keep them. I am also not keen on hard objects in the car close to kids no matter how well tested they are.

So you need those thick handle cases that you will see in my picture and straps with plastic buckles like these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Jalan-Webbi.../dp/B07G4ZSKRZ
Whichever ones you buy make sure buckles are wide enough to hold the iPad well and are not a “sew it on” kind. You cut them about two foot in size, burn the edges to stop fraying and thread through buckles. You can experiment with length later. The shorter the tidier but also harder to tighten. You wrap the strap around the posts and really close under headrest, thread the buckle through the handle, clip it and tighten. Now if you get a narrow strap it will be easier to tighten but it will also not be as stable. Mine is 2in wide which requires a bit of dexterity to tighten but then it is very tight and stable.
Pictures are here.

Remember when you had to play i.spy and red car yellow car etc to keep the kids amused, and keep them as far apart as possible.

Yes I do. That was last week . They are all netflixed out after lockdown so iPads lasted all of two hours. Then they realised that whilst wales is different country and it is a holiday there will be no pool nor aquapark.
That’s off topic. The solution performed fine though.
