Apparently Xmas trees are going to be in short supply, perhaps you should pick one up when you get back?

Narrative - There is no fuel crisis..!! It’s just a spot of panic buying. Make sure Express and Torygraph are on side as their readers will go with that.

Reality. - Mil put on standby to deal with growing fuel crisis.

What an absurd world we now live in, comrades.

I’ll tell you what though. As much as I can’t stand this current government, they have nailed down directing the public narrative to a tee. Cummings has a lot to answer for…!

The news this evening is that up to 150 army drivers may be called in to help. Gosh! What a huge difference that will make.
(Apart from panicking people even more, that is.)

You claim that, but the figures are still 50,000 civil servants down on the 2009 figure.

Oddly, the number has swelled since the 2016 referendum. I know the department I work for has spent thousands upon thousands of hours dealing with the implications of Brexit...

My apologies for my childish allusions.
I have taken a review of other childish things and I feel I can now say that I no longer believe in the white haired man either, he may have asked what we wanted and made promises including a fanciful ecofriendly delivery system but, and those of a sensitive disposition should look away, Father Christmas is a fraud.
For balance I have also reconsidered the story of Chicken Licken and concluded the story that the sky is falling is a massive over exaggeration and Chicken Licken needs to get a grip, an acorn fell on his head, which whilst it may be a sign of autumn and a harbinger of winter, does not signify the end of the world. Although I do still find the character of Foxy Loxy to be deeply suspect, offering an expedient solution but really only acting in his own interests.

On the upside I did find some petrol at the local Tesco on the way home from work this morning so I'll be able to get to work for the rest of the week.

Absolutely not just British - everybody does it. Every nation. Remember toilet paper shortages? People will do this, it's as common as drinking water.

I remember being told that back in the seventies? There was a salt shortage because someone said russian salt miners were going on strike. It's not a new thing.

Is there?

At least the Stanlow refinery doesn't now look to be closing down due to not being able to pay its overdue VAT returns. But once again this shows how so many vital UK capabilities are now hanging by a thread. If only we could fill up our vehicles with sovrin tea.
