I have an xc70 2wd 2.4 175 bhp drive e with the polestar optimisation.
These cars were only made 2009/2010. They are basically a Ford mondeo mk4 with a Volvo 5 pot engine. Mine manual, over 8000 miles it averaged 43.6 mpg, which dropped to 36.8 mpg when I towed the 1650kg caravan to Scotland and back in October, since returning average mpg is back up to 40.3 mpg as of today. The polestar makes the car what it should have been out of the factory. It being a Ford Volvo means factor parts are plentiful and a lot cheaper than Volvo. Eg £820 for a Volvo drive shaft, £190 for factor. Factor had twice the warranty of the Volvo also. Unless you really need the awd capability do not overlook the 2wd versions. I also have a land rover discovery 1 on the drive, a real 4x4 so could happily live without the awd. Paul.
