AWD Has Been Disabled -Service Required
I've booked me XC60 D5 (my2010) in for a Service yesterday, for pickup by Doves today, on way back home last night, Warning Message I've never seen before " AWD Has Been Disabled -Service Required", car has done less than 22k miles, now is this coincidence? Anyways car has about 18 days of warranty left.
I'll mention to Doves and let you know conclusion, other than that car has been fine.... |

I can't recall having seen any mention of a failure to the XC60 AWD on this forum before, lots on XC90, but not our car.
Will be good to see your report and find out exactly what was wrong.

AWD Has Been Disabled-Service Required - Final
So:
Service was £540 - "AWD Has Been Disabled-Service Required" message was caused by a Rear differential pump going, apparently if was not under warranty £700 to replace part and fit. For a vehicle which has done 22086 miles and is three years old, I'm not impressed, anyway the pleasure it gives me on the weekend just about makes up for it. Now onto finding a decent (if exists) extended warranty plan before the Volvo warranty ends in a couple of weeks - any recent suggestions? - looked at Warranty Direct, Warranty wise, Volvo obviously say Volvo, any recommendations greatly appreciated.......... |

Ouch
I took out Warranty Direct cover 2 months ago with the reason being to cover anything like this. Only advice I can give is not accept their first price, I eventually paid approx £700 for 2 years, dealer maintained - they started a lot higher than that

Thanks
Nice one -
I got a quote from Warranty direct around £1100 for two years, was going to negotiate around £900ish, now you told me that, I'll keep around £700 in mind. Chap at Volvo quoted me £799 for 2 years, need to get further details though, if I can get around £600 - £700 for premium level cover, will consider... |

It was covered; if it wasn't it would have cost £700... that's how I read it anyway...

Correct
Quote:
The Service on its own was £540... The Part and fitting would have been £700 alone.......... Also - Check this (and for future ref) - one of my remotes were playing up a while ago, called Volvo for price of Batteries £9 for the pair told - got 4 Batteries from Ebay for around £4........On going through the service record, guess what they changed, oh Well, lesson learnt....... |

We had a the same warning appear on our wagon but fortunately for Volvo warranty, it was just a pressure sensor that had failed.
