Sat Nav/Phone: - delete message

morning all,
I have received what I believe is a text message on the phone in my 54 plate D5 auto, when I 'read' I get a jumble of numbers and letters. I can't find a delete option on the menu, how do I get rid of said message? without removing the sim to my mobile.

..with the message displayed - try pressing the 'enter' button again - this normally brings up the option to 'erase message' .. it does on mine anyway..
