Question SATNAV full postcode - pre 2007

In the thread "SATNAV full postcode" it has the joyful news that the new VCC part 31310193 gives a full post code search. However that only applies to 2007 models onwards. I have a 2006 XC90 Exec and the navi.volvocars.com website says that my VCC part number is 31310191.

The crucial question, please can somebody confirm that buying a new VCC part 31310191 will also give a full postcode search?

I think you are all getting too excited about this post code search. I have a my10 which comes with postcode search. Somehow and due to the awkward interface ( the guy who developed this sat nave interface should be shot), I find that using the street and town is quicker and more reliable. More than once, the post code return weird results.

Reggie, my main use for SatNav is for remote locations on unnamed country roads - National Trust properties etc. which are not in the SatNav locations. The current partial postcode search can leave me a few miles away with no idea where to turn next; and I need to use my old TomTom to get full directions. I would rather get away from the, rather silly, situation of having to use two SatNavs side by side or not use the expensive one that I have fitted.

I honestly think you will be disappointed by the postcode. I am not sure the sat nav will have your remote location postcode either.

I can confirm that on my 2005 car, a 2010 disc gives you full postcode, turning a useless system into a useful one.

This is the one I have - 31310191 - and it works fine on my My2005 DVD based system.

I think some earlier systems were Cd only, so worth checking....the site below lets you check...

Depends on where you buy it... seems to be £160-£200.
