Interesting, wish I had an excuse for a software update!

Given that most report polestar's benefit as improving transmission response in comfort mode, I wonder if this devalues polestar further?

Don't worry, the box still shifts into 1st gear when not required and revs like a mad thing before much happens. However, it is smoother otherwise.

I'm more impressed by the Spotify update. Using it is now a much better experience, interacting with it is more consistent and it defo connects and starts playing faster.

Have they made the search button any bigger instead of tucking it into the top corner. Not the easiest thing to select at 70mph.

I know I'm not feeling the brand love at the moment due to all our problems but even the xc60 d5 is a shocker of an autobox. Exactly the same traits. Really noticed it in slightly heavier than usual traffic this am.

Lift off to coast in traffic from 30, get to about 20 and just lightly feather throttle to maintain momentum and it does not like it. Changes down and lurches.

Get the same at round about's if you come to it at about 15/20mph and are able to pull out without coming to a halt the car changes down every time and lurches away.

I've complained several times about it to deaf ears.

I know some have mentioned, about a software gearbox reset? have you tried it, can you reset the software to default before it learns?

I assume this is not in power mode, (if you have one)

I asked the dealer to reset the software that can be done when car plugged in. Don't think they did it. Got bigger issues at the moment than this but I'll raise this update with them when I speak to dealer today

Cheers.

My biggest remaining issue with this car may possibly have been resolved.

Dealer updated to nov18 software yesterday when doing safety recall work. The off throttle / coast / on throttle (or break into the corner on throttle) gearbox shunt is gone - the car coasts smoothly and is in perfect gear when throttle reapplied - I do not feel gear change - this is huge for me. The overrev out of T junction may have gone but I have only had two or three of those last night when I tried it and I have perfected a technique to avoid it now so possibly I will need to try and deliberately provoke it to confirm. Someone else had the update and said the overrev was still there.

Why did it take 3.5 years, Volvo? This was mentioned in almost every review right from the start and it’s obviously not the hardware. Still, well done.
