2005 S40 dead battery and locked out
Hello, I have an older S40 2005 model that has a dead battery from being undriven for a few months. The key fob doesn't open the door and the key blade will slide into the keyhole but will not turn. I have 2 blades and only 1 fob, neither blades work.
There doesn't appear to be another keyhole on the car, either on passenger side or trunk so I'm at a loss how to get into the car. Has anyone experienced this before, should I resign myself to breaking a window to get in? Thanks for any replies |

Don't break a window
If you have 11 pin trailer wiring, then a live battery terminal is on the trailer plug. Connect a charger or booster to give the car enough power to unlock Otherwise, remove the engine cover (under the engine), if fitted, and connect a booster / charger to the live connection of the starter motor or alternator, whichever you can reach easiest

Have you tried spraying some lub, like wd40 into the keyhole?
