Default Advice on buying brand new xc90

All,

I could really do with some advice regarding purchasing a new xc90, I have never purchased a car newer than 4 or 5 years of age snd always cash.

I will he coming from a well specified 2012 SE lux with swivel HID headlights, electric subroof, auto child locks and sat nav etc.

The mode I am looking at is a base spec momentum in denim blue with blonde interior and is been offered at £44,500. It will be brand new but on a 68 plate pre 30th March 2019.

I assume that even the base Momentum is a rather nice and well specified place to be? This is a built car and I don’t really have any options other than the metallic paint.

How does this price compare and will the momentum be ok? Should say it’s a d5.

Have you test driven the car yet? My dealer was very helpful and sourced cars with options that I was interested in. I would suggest an extended drive, perhaps over a weekend?

Just price check against drive the deal. You should be paying less that DTD for a pre registered car.

Agreed. Brokers4cars has a base momentum at 43700 odd brand new so if be looking to knock some more off that. Also make sure it has the latest software update from last November on it!

If you are coming from a well specified 2012 SE lux and you are configuring a new car, I would start with the Inscription trim and work with additional packages and options.
If you had a panoramic roof, it's hard to configure a car without it so I believe that you can take a step further and look into the Inscription PRO that I believe it's available in the UK.

If it's too much, start with the Inscription and figure out the other options from there.
I would recommend the following packs:
-Winter Pack with Head-Up Display
-Xenium pack

Optionals:
-Folding headrests
-BLIS
-Smartphone integration
-Sensus connect with Harman Kardon

A very nice option is the Four-C suspension. I have it and it's worth it. I believe that it's included on the Inscription PRO trim.

Soltan, Philip and 225 thanks for the advice, I will certainly follow up those cheaper quotes and register with that site, thanks so much, could have saved me some money there!

The car is not pre-registered it is brand new and just off the line (not in the uk yet) however the deal is to buy before March 31st on 68 plate, I assume the dealer has some to shift.

Whilst it is a base spec I think there is a few pounds of extras, the blue paint was 700 and I think there is another 5 or6 hundred quids of options.

Thanks guys!

also check any finance options - even for a 0% deal (up to 50% of cost) you can get a £3500 Volvo contribution

Thanks for your advice, only just got it or I would have thanked you in the above post.

I was offered an Inscription Pro however even with the discounts it was still north of 50K. I struggle to justify 44K to be frank :-).

I will do some searches on the vehicles however.

19 plate reg starts in 8 days and your car will lose value before you getting it also is diesel wise even at your mileage if you intend to keep the car a long time.

Does it have the winter pack? A Volvo without heated seats just seems wrong and once you have got used to them you will probably miss them.
