ok, I've started digging into it and removing bits, and I'm 99% certain the oil is leaking from the joint between the black plastic 'rocker cover' (?) and the cylinder head. The engine had a top-end rebuild last year and I'm guessing the seal/sealant where this is bolted on was not done well-there's also a bit of a leak at the front.
It appears the injectors are bolted through this cover-anything else I should be aware of/looking out for? Thanks in advance. |

Many wil tell you that you must remove the Bevel gearbox to take the turbo out underneath the car and this is the correct way. However, i have taken it out of the top by removing the manifold studs, droping the manifold and lowering the engine at the frount to get access. (Engine mounts off at the front etc). It's very tight but it can be done. Doing the turbo this way I'd probably say that you will need to remove about 25 nuts and bolts to remove the turbo. 8 of which are very difficult to access and you will need a variety of extension bars and sockets and bars to be able to do. You will need a turbo seal kik and new turbo of course along with coolant and an oil change. Parts alone will set you back £350 as a turbo cartridge for mime was £200 alone. Hope this helps. |

thanks NMB but if you read my previous post you'll see it's not the turbo.
My issue now is that all the injectors are seized in place so I can't get the black plastic cover off to reseal it. |
