capt jack - thanks for your reply. I actually spoke to Dai today and he confirmed what you have replied. I cannot find the thread for the S80 gearbox issue I read but I recall something to do with the gearbox ECU? Anyway, after talking to Dai and your prompt reply I feel confident to go for the conversion as soon as I collect the car this weekend. I have driven an Audi A8 2.8 Quattro for the last 5 yrs on LPG and haven't experienced any problems including the gearbox which is why I asked if there was anything unusual about the S80? Next silly question - any idea on a realistic MPG after the LPG conversion based on me in the car on my own driving a steady 70mph all the way ( if my right foot can resist?)

If you're in Derby, I can highly recommend LPG Conversions in Heanor.

http://www.lpgconversionsltd.co.uk/

Give them a call and talk to Nick or Stan - They are always happy to help, and even show you around the workshop, and show examples of their work

I had my old Vectra converted there which I was really pleased with. Depending on my job is whether I get the Volvo done or not

Hi Bigmac.

Well my 2.5 10v V70 CD auto - admittedly a different beast to a T6 - returns 25 to 28 mpg on LPG - about 4 to 5 mpg less than we get in our S70, which has the identical engine running on petrol. I reckon if you base your calculations on getting about 80% of the mpg on LPG compared with petrol you'll not go far wrong.

Cheers

Jack

Just to confirm as per phone conversation that there no gearbox issues created as a result of converting to LPG.

If there had been any metion of a gearbox not responding correctly it could have been caused by poor mapping but would only be a issue while running on LPG and not cause damage.

I would like to add Dai recently converted my 850R to LPG.. What a fantastic job he did, for a very reasonable price !.
This is the second conversion i have had on volvo`s, the first conversion was done in Doncaster, a poor conversion compared to Dai`s work.
Looking under the bonnet, it is hard to detect the car even has a conversion !!.. Also no body work was touched for the fuel filler, the filler is located behind the petrol fuel filler cap !! awesome !!.
I have been trying to upload a full review of the conversion with multiple photos..but cannot reduce image size !! am a bit crap with PC`S ! if anyone can help send me a PM..Please !
Anyhow.. Dai is the man for LPG..END OF !

Simon
