Default V70 returned from dealer misfiring on gas

My bifuel v70 went in to the local Volvo dealers for a diagnosis to find where whining noise was coming from belt pulleys. Diagnosed as needing a new compressor because the bearing was on the way out on the compressor pully. They also removed the airbag over steering wheel to tighten up wheel nut. They had previously serviced the LPG system changing filters etc. 17000 miles earlier. She was running perfectly on gas when I left her there. Collected her that the next morning and she changed over to gas half a mile up the road only to have the engine judder. Went straight back complained. They said it needed a new distributor etc. and said they had done nothing to upset the gas system.
Anyone else taken a bifuel in in working order to have it come away with a misfire?

Well the factory fit bi-fuels don't have the best of reputations - you only need to have a short amble through these pages to see that.

It seems odd though. It's possible that the dealer inadvertently disturbed something when they had the car, equally it could be a genuine coincidence. 17,000 miles is a long time ago - my LPG conversion needs a new filter every 15,000 miles, so maybe the filter needs renewing anyway.

Do shop around before letting a Volvo dealer supply a new gas distributor. Unless it's under warranty they will almost certainly be by far your most expensive option.

Autogas 2000 in Thirsk, North Yorkshire I think will do an alternative, and I wouldn't mind betting that others probably will too. Classicswede (Dai Brace) will be well worth contacting too.

Cheers

Jack
