did you try the premium quote, which you will have to pay for?
I paid £3.90 to get mine.

No, but it does not seem to recognise the D3 AWD, probably as there were very few before it became the D4?

Prices do seem to be very poor though, my car listed at £39k new and I paid £32k.
It seems to be worth £22k now after 18 months.

There was a box asking for Reg plate numbers, which i used in the Glass' guide.
My exact car came up. Did you do that?

Yes it's a bummer that new cars depreciate so much so quick
But as I said b/4 I was surprised at the "top" valuation they gave me (that's selling privately).
Perhaps your pricing was Trade in prices, which are significantly lower.

Are you thinking of selling then?

^^^^ Glass is the book all the traders use, and when I used to go to auctions you saw them all in their long black coats, or puffa anorak jackets, flicking through the book!! I found Glass's guide to suggest values above what a car was worth.

Regards

I tried the number plate option and that failed, so I tried the manual entry and although it lists all the models including mine ( see below ) it refuses to give any price. I also tried a D4 option and that was the same.

Yes the £22k is a trade in price, I may look at selling privately.

Really??
I had a friend in the trade that stated otherwise. why would they want a reference book that told them an auction car would be of a very high valuation, they only want to pay peanuts ?
At one time ordinary folk couldn't get hold of a Glass' book. I remember he used to call it his bible...LOL

They probably don't expect a Volvo like ours to be sold so quick.

A friend of the family was a car dealer, and I found that bottom book for a car was lets say £2000 with a suggested retail of say £3000, turned out selling at auction for £1500 and retailing for £2500.

It was a few years ago though, and nowadays whenever I have p/x'd a car, the salesperson sometimes offers a figure so low and insulting, I would feel better donating the car to a good cause....!!

Tbh if you are p/x ing your car Bob, have a sensible figure in your head of what you want for it, have a figure in your head of what you want to pay for the new car and go with that.

Its strange that when you buy a new car you are told,''its rare, there are loads of potential buyers for it so be quick, its the best most popular colour is black, this 2.5 litre engine is the best, its very economical'' - yet when you come to sell the very same vehicle the car turns into ''there is no market for your car,the market is flooded with this model, its in the least popular colour, its got the wrong engine for what people are looking for,its not the most economical etc etc etc....!!!!. Its all tripe!!

I'm in a very similar situation with work at the moment.

If it happens the V60 will have to go.

Sad times but its a needs must.

It's the best car I've ever had the AWD was brilliant in the recent snow.
