1: on my 1997 s40 se is the fuel flap meant to lock with the central locking?

Bearing in mind that mine is 2000MY.

2 - No
3 - Maybe - I understand the front seats are not.........

In response to number 1
I've had 2 S40s,a 97,and i currently have a 98 and neither of them have a fuel flap that locks with the central locking,i'm guessing that's why the cap itself has a lock on it.Whether later ones do i couldn't tell you as i can't afford 2 buy one to find out!!!

2. No
3. Not much.

My filler flap has no way of locking either!!!

Apparently the engine in mine is the same as used in the Luguna, although i have been told it's a Volvo made engine, basically a 5 cylinder out the T5 with a cylinder lobbed off!!!! So i asume Renault buy em from volvo!! not sure how accurate that info is though!!

i worked as a mechanic for renault for 3 years and can tell you that yes renault did use the volvo 2.0 lump but it is not the same one as that fitted in my car hence why i thought it may be a toyota lump as im sure iv heard someone say that volvo use them

The answers to your questions are:

1. On 1997, no it should have lockable filler cap
2. If it was then it might go wrong less often!!!
3. Not a chance!

Now get back to the south wales thread where you belong

Pete
