Hi,

I am new to Volvo world and would really appreciate guidance.

I am thinking of purchasing 07 reg S60, any ideas what to watch out during test drive! The car has FSH and 105k miles on the clock with a cambelt change at 97k.

Many thanks in advance.

What engine/gearbox? What price are they asking?

Presuming it's a 2.4D/D5, open her up for a look at the condition of the swirl arm link, any residue around the injectors and the intercooler. Regards the swirl arm link, google it if your unfamiliar so you know what to look for - it's an easy fix if the arm has come loose, but is a potential bargaining chip. If possible start her from cold and check she idles steadily around 700rpm. Check the handbrake isn't 'flimsy' and doesn't require too much travel i.e. armpit! Check the hu850 cd changer works - these are known to crap themselves.

Hi AndyB06,

Many thanks for your guidance.

It is 2.0T petrol engine with 5 speed manual gearbox.

I did a test drive and it seems OK.
1. I did notice historic fluid around engine oil cap.

2. Also historic oil at the end closer to radiator of big pipe (turbo?).

3.There were no leaks under the car.

4. There was a squeaky noise at the cold start before the engine turned on.

5. When turning on roads, there was a clicking noise under the car.

Is any of above a concern?

The car dealer assured that issues of PDI will be addressed professionally. But I recently had not a good experience from another dealer following PDI report, where reported issues were not addressed (not even a few pounds radiator cap) or a clean!

Cheers,
