Default Garden Find 340DL - Abandoned for 25 years

Hi all I wanted to share with you this little car I have recently saved from a garden, its a one owner from new car that has been parked since 1997 so 25 yeas of being sat in that very spot.

Its a 1987 340DL one owner from new and with a full Volvo history, (for the ten years it was on the road) it still retains all its original number plates an history.

My plan is to save the car and make it road worthy again, I find these little cars interesting, and I think it will sit nicely next to my 940 turbo & Amazon 121.

Never had one of these so it's all new to me, I will be on the hunt for various parts but thought with the history this car has it was worth saving.

I hope you enjoy the progress I will try and post some pics soon but for now here is a link to my YouTube channel showing me pulling the car out.

Thanks

Marc

Have you tried rotating the crank yet?

I know I don't need to tell you but get the fuel pipe off the carb and run it off a bottle when you're ready.

Make sure all the engine and gearbox mounts are solid before you try driving it. If the engine and gearbox are not lined up then the rubber in teh prop will fail

They are great little cars so well worth putting the time and effort into
