Default The New Arrival

Couple of Photos of my new Amazon. Bought off ebay from a really genuine guy in Bath who has owned the car since 1972 and had taken it half way round the world, including the Sahara and Switzerland, which explains why it's on Km clocks!

Having given it the once over this weekend it has confirmed my view (and that of Amazon 69 who also had a look at the car) that it is very solid.

Also started the clean up of the interior which has begun to respond well to some serious soap and water!

Already started the list of things to do and things to buy!! - I do already have the wing trims which were supplied but had never been fitted as the seller could not bring himself to drill the wings after a re-spray a few years ago

First one was digging out my old cassettes - the Steroe set up is typically 60's/70's and the sound quality similar, but it does seem to match the car - driving along the seafront today with the Kinks playing through dodgy speakers seemed very appropriate.

Happy days!!

Just got to sell my C70 now. 2 weeks and no interest - Oh Dear!!

It's on the list - presume Brookhouse do them?

Or are others around?

Brookhouse do them for around £24 as advertised on e-bay but speaking to Simon they are a little cheaper direct as they have to add on e-bays commission, got mine secondhand from e-bay for a fiver though so its worth taking a look especially as there seem to be a few being broken on there at the moment..

Dave;

That Really is a sweet looking Baby Blue Amazon!

Absense of front side molding spears makes me have to ask if those are fibreglass fenders/wings? I have mixed feelings about them...no more rust...ever!...that's great, but less crash protection in which case, more vital components would receive the forces of a crash, including maybe you!...and that's bad...and not original, but that bothers me less...the look is still perfectly original, if you drill holes and install side molding...none the less... that's is one gorgeous Swede you can be seen with!!!

Cheers from Connecticut!

PS; You have E-mail answering your inquiry!

Cheers Ron,

Wings are new steel wings fitted before re-spray. Owner couldn't bring himself to drill them for the mouldings. Same reason that the cluster of relays on the left hand inner wing are fitted to a half inch thickaluminium strip which is then glued!? to the inner wing. He didn't want to drill as that would only ecourage rust!
