Default Modded V70 T5

Hey guys i dont know much about Volvo's. Im a Ford guy and always liked the Volvo Wagons. Well i found a 2001 V70 T5 wagon with m56 manual transmission,19T turbo, custom wothRline computer, 465cc injectors,3.5 inch down pipe into 3" cat back. Aqua mist race methanol injection. Suspension full IPD sways and end links with H+R springs and bilstiens front and back. The guy wants $3800. Is it worth it? It has 220,000 miles. How much power should it make? Should i buy

Good grief, don't do it that man, do you know what you're letting yourself into buying something like that. Endless trouble by the sounds of it. Spend your money on a decent 'unmolested' T5 if you can find one.

Or maybe BUY IT!
It sounds like a beast, but does it run for more than a day before self-destructing?

If you do get it and tire of it you can sell all those mods on here or TB forum...

Going to look at it again today. I already test drove it and its solid. I fell in love its got much power. I know I will need to do a overhaul soon but I'm willing to do so. Can a stock block handle those mods

The answer is the whole point to these Turbo Redblocks,
although from the sound of it there may well be uprated internals too... did you ask?

It's a T5 so a whiteblock, not a redblock.

If the previous owner has done that much to it, they should've fitted forged rods as a matter of course but ask any way.
If it's set up properly, you should see an easy 320 to 320bhp, providing there's the obvious 3" downpipe and freeflowing exhaust to go with it all.
If it's had the engine done, the mileage won't make any difference. Mine is on 212k mike's and purrs like a kitten and roars like a lion.

Go for it

He said the engine was stock 220,000 miles. He put all the mods on it. I found a used engine with 150,000 miles for $450. I plan to build a block with some fat rods and a block with the upgraded sleeves. But cant a stock block handle 350hp?

The stock block you'll have in that one will be the 2319cc version, meaning the bores should cope with 350bhp. However - being pre 2003, it won't have the uprated bottom end. If it's mapped properly, it should be fine but if it brings the boost in too early, or you get a spike below 3k rpm, you'll be risking the rods.

Or, just don't floor it until after 3-3500k rpm.
