Why does the LV car insurance feature a blue Volvo Estate loose on the road?

Are they trying to tell us something about Volvo drivers??

It looks like s 940 Celebration Estate too.Thats what I drive, but not blue...

I haven't seen the advert (or any recently), but I think James A on here might possibly know something...

They probably used a Volvo estate because it was the only car available at the time of advert production that still resembled a car after hitting everything in it's path!

If you look closely at the advert, you'll notice its got the american quad headlights hidden behind some clear lenses that attempt to make it european looking, which then leads me to think its a LHD car.

When it cuts to the interior shot, the dashboard doesnt look right either. As I think they've built a fake dash and steering wheel on the right hand side, whilst the stunt man and the correct LHD steering wheel is hidden underneath some special effects afterwards.

Could be wrong but hey just what i see everytime i watch the advert.

My friend says that the ad was filmed in South Africa, which would account for the red Austin Apache (ZA-specific, although a variation was made in Spain as the Authi Victoria) which gets bashed by the errant 740, and the fact that all the cars featured are RHD. The 740 appears to be a pre-facelift model which has been airbrushed to make it resemble a 940
