V70: General V70 2.4D DMF failed at 75000 miles

I agree with Model Flyer re the high reverse gear on the XC70. Of all my previous towcars I found the XC70 probably the most difficult to reverse up to hitch my caravan. Even putting it in HDC softened the throttle response but the engine still liked a few too many revs to comfortably back up to the van in some cases particularly where the ground sloped or was uneven. The EPB didn't help as you cannot balance the throttle against the partial friction offered by a conventional parking brake. I used the mover far more hitching up the XC70 than any other car that I have towed with. But when hitched it was a very accomplished towcar.
