2010 V50 1.6 D Pollen Filter

Hi,

Recently bought a v50 in UK and brought it back to Republic of Ireland.

Really enjoyed the drive home car feels very solid and to be honest I love it.

Having being a fan of all things Japanese ( Drive a toyota auris van for work and it feels like a coke can compared to the volvo)Car had a great service history cant help but notice the pollen filter wasn't changed.

where is it located in the car i'm seeing conflicting report of the footwell and engine also there seems to be several listed for the car size wise.

It is in the cabin.

Front passenger side footwell where a passengers right hand foot would be touching the centre console area. You have to remove the carpet area and the under glove box fuse box (CEM) to gain entry.

Just a note that it is a pig of a job on these models and allow yourself plenty time, watch the skin on your hands and take a chill pill prior to attempting. This job will try your patience.

Done it today wasn't too bad having read up made life a lot easier still an absolute pig of a job

I was in the right frame of mind if your having a bad day dont attempt this at all needs the awul 100% patience !

I don't know how they dare use the word 'design' in connection with the filter. I know they inherited a ventilation unit from Ford, but would it really have been so difficult to NOT put the CEM module bracket directly in front of the bottom of the access, even slightly closer to the wheel arch would have been a help?

It beggars belief where its located I suppose its not something you access regularly enough for it to be a major issue.

I'd imagine it was an afterthought of some description.

The new filter has made a world of difference. I got the V50 as we have twins on the way so I want it all to be 100% the air con is a lot cooler and there's a lot more air coming from it.

She who must be obeyed said she thought she was going to get frost bite on the way to the shops so it cant be bad

I got the filter for 12 euros fitted it myself is a tricky and niggly job but well worth doing on your own its a handy DIY job IMO plenty of patience and your away.
