Question Dashcam fuse help

Happy Christmas all

Just before Christmas I had Halfords hardwire in a Blackvue DR900S-2CH system.
I also have a Power Magic Pro.
The dip switches are set to infinity, but the camera does not always go to parking mode (dies) or always start up on ignition. I have to power toggle the Power Magic Pro to start recording (not ideal!)

I suspect the Halfords engineer has used the 'wrong'fuses for the permenant and/or ignition. Probably caused by the key fob being too close during fitting.

Added to that, I see (according to the VOC app) that the XC60 has a standby mode after 4-5 days of inactivity, which may also be causing a problem.

Any help/suggestions as to which fuse (from the passenger footwell fuse selection) I should be using/Jumpering for a perm live & ignition fuse?

I'm afraid that my dash cam is just simply back into the 12v accessory socket and doesnt have a parking mode so cant help.....

My only bit of advice would be not to trust Halfords.....

I'm afraid I cannot help as I got mine installed by a local garage for the exact reason.

Sorry, looks like I missed your Post-Boxing day question.
I have a very similar setup to you but with the Blackvue DR750 camera that my dealer installed when it was being PDI'd.
Anyway, I also has same problem which was down to a known Blackvue Power Magic Pro faulty manufacturing issue which was corrected by their Chinese supplier late last summer.
Check the Power Magic Pro's Serial No on it's side, if the 7 digit No begins with a 6nnnnnn and is called Ver 1.03 then the chances are it's faulty. The latest ones have a serial No beginning with a 7nnnnnn which are all fine.
If your's by any chance is a 7nnnnnn version, then it's a Halfords wiring issue in which case i would ask your dealer to rectify - I would not trust Halfords to know the details of your advanced car's wiring system.

You could go back to Halfords and get them to do the job correctly, I would imagine the term engineer is being applied loosely.

They may not realise that after turning ignition off systems stay live for at least 7 minutes and they may have just tested it without waiting for everything to power down by turning off and thinking they had a permanent live when it was just ignition live not yet powered down.
