I'll attempt that, thanks. Noise seems to be coming from around cylinder 5 I believe.

When cold, the noise doesn't exist but as it warms up, it's a nightmare. I've changed my HP Pump and that P0002 error is now gone, I've had to unplug the battery to remove the code.

I can never get good leverage on using a vice, as I'm barring the clamps, it always slips out the teeth at the top, euro 4 injector clamps have a slight bow in them like a v shape, whereas when there used, there sort of flattish.

Double post:

Found a video on YouTube which depicts my noise accurately. Though the forum it came from, someone said its normal, it isn't.

https://youtu.be/SWsMgsDpZ10

Comments keep pointing to the lifters still, but they have all been changed.

Have a watch of that one - would also explain why yours seemed worse under acceleration if it's that!

I'd still add some ATF-U to the oil though, will only help inside the engine.

I've seen that before, and I am a fan of his videos. I have had a vaccum issue before due to leaking mounts but I've blanked them off and that popping noise disappeared. I think the vaccum leak is more of a serious inconvenience on the euro 3 due to the vaccum function on the turbo waste gate solenoid if that's the correct term for it.

Hello guys, another update on the situation.

Today the engine was flushed and a 5W40 oil was used from various recommendations, however knock is still present, however I've narrowed it down to the area its coming from.

It's seems to be the EGR area.

Does anyone know what the EGR Command reading should be at idle? You have EGR and EGR Error. I'm using the torque app at the moment. I've done some research and have a strong suspicion my EGR might be stuck open.

I bought an S60 185HP 2 weeks ago and have this exact issue. Mechanic had a quick listen and was confident its the injectors. everyone online says its the head tappets.

Whats interesting, is mine ALSO comes from near cylinder 5! And also sounds EXACTLY like yours stellaman! Slightly noticeable and as revs rise so do the clicks

Nothing of interest on VIDA apart from sticking solenoid on gearbox and glow plug relay.

My tappets were all replaced l, some were smashed, all it did was remove the ticking bike chain noise when the car is revved. However the reason I suspect the EGR is because of that noise around cylinder 5/egr area and a pulsing noise through the airbox, which I read elsewhere was due to a stuck egr valve. On torque mine reads 100% when stationary and 99.22% on the EGR Error.
