I had reason to visit the local Volvo Dealership and I asked for their assistance in tracing heated fan spray nozzles that would fit my car but they maintain that for my 2012 XC70 only the two jet nozzles will fit. I still suspect that this may be a simplistic approach on looking up the part number and not getting the inventory program to offer other nozzles which might fit but which are not listed as fitting. Now I'm really determined to prove one way or another whether there are fan spray heated nozzles that fit my car.

So can anyone advise whether it absolutely can be done. If so, firstly I get the nozzles and secondly I get to show the dealer that they were wrong!

If anyone can post the heated fan jet part numbers from a V60 I would really appreciate it, I’m always annoyed by the twin jets on my V60, I’m hoping that still being a 13 plate that they would be compatible with my car even though it is the face lift. Likewise if anyone has photos of the fan jets from the outside and from under the bonnet, I would be very interested to see them and whether they will fit my car.

My 2011 V70 D3/4 ES had heated twin jet washers fitted originally. The part number on the washer rubber fitted under the bonnet to protect the washers have the part number 30699651 on (there's nothing on the actual jet assembly). Searching for that led me to replacement heated fan type jets with a part number of 31301827. I ordered a pair (even though they said they were for a V60) and they are a perfect fit and work very well - all connectors, etc., identical. They are a little low with their aim (not badly so), but I haven't tried any of the usual fixes yet...

I got them from Ebay: listing as "VOLVO S60 MK2 Windshield Washer Heated Nozzle 31301827 NEW GENUINE"
Do check yours are the same before buying as VIN searching didn't bring up the right ones for me - I found mk1 eyeball much more successful!

I am poised to try these despite my local Volvo dealer telling me that the jets from other models would not fit my XC70. However, in view of their probably incorrect statement, I am a little more cautious than I would otherwise have been as I don't want to find I have £70 worth of non fitting parts that I have to get refunded from Lithuania. So is there any reason to believe that the bonnet and its washer jet fitting apertures are any different on a 2012 XC70 than on a 2011 V70? My reaction is that they are not but I need just a little confidence boosting.

In my last cars I always changed the jets but with my XC70 I didn't know which units would work because of the heating of the spray heads which is why I'm seeking advice on part numbers to find a plug and play jet.

Or they are giant jet aircraft engines with huge frontal fans operating like shrouded propellers in addition the the propulsion of the rear jet efflux.
Any videos of these fan jets in action on a Volvo?

To clarify, if you have a first gen facelift V60, then these washer jets are not compatible, as they’re the ones that poke out of the top of the bonnet. If, like myself you have a facelift then your washer keys are hidden under the rear edge of the bonnet and are a completely different design. The search continues.
