The best replacement for a Volvo is another Volvo, I had a minor problem with a piece of metal entering the engine. That piece of metal had a Fiat badge and I can vouch for the driver protection in my lovely old D3.

Anyway, thanks to London's loony mayor, I picked up a 2015 diesel D5 SE Lux Nav from an owner in London. The D3 was terrific and the D5 is most impressive. A little less economy as you would expect.

Anyone looking for a good deal would do well to search London sales. I bought my wife a diesel Mercedes from a London seller a few years back and let's just say that when you are facing a daily ULEZ charge, cars are priced to sell quickly. It's worth the journey if you find the right car.
