It's not mine, the licence plate is Dutch. Can that explain the tight space behind the car?
I wish that garage was mine though, ours is slightly less roomy

Front and rear licence plates are obtained from certain suppliers upon production of a document from the DVLA which authorises their supply.

In addition to the actual licence number the plates must also show the supplier's name.

Aha, so UK licence plate are higher quality items compared to belgian ones.
The rear is supplied by the belgian version of the DVLA, we have to provide the front ourselves.
But both are merely sheet aluminium having perhaps the advantage of being pliable
Another difference, not related to this topic, is that in Belgium the plate doesn't stay with the car.

I dont want to go sticking a screw through a hose or wiring, so could someone maybe post a photo of where theirs is screwed so I can copy it please?

Dealer is 300 miles away, screws are £1.00.
My old XC90 front plate did the same due to the slight curve in the bumper, local home bargains store have rolls of double sided adhesive tape a bit like draught excluder foam tape but it it super strong I used this after cleaning bumper and it never came back off. It was only 79 pence for a pack of two rolls.
I also used it to replace my scruffy defender number plate and stick on my number plate to my caravan, It is so strong I could not get number plate of the caravan without a "great" deal of effort when I changed my car. In fact the adhesive stayed on the plate and caravan and it was the foam that pulled away after a lot of tugging and prying, its really good stuff.

My dealer-fitted front number plate fell off too after a few weeks as the tape they used was pathetic.

Don't go drilling holes!!

I simply used Halfords 6mm double-sided fixing pads (3 in a pack), sticking them horizontally along the top half of the plate. They grip on the vertical panel below the grille and the 6mm keeps them away from the curved lower section.

They've now been on for 12 months through winter, power washing and now hot weather and are still securely fixed.

From memory around £3.50 a pack, I did the rear plate too after first bonding it to a nice stainless steel backing surround plate.
