Default 2015 V60 alarm issues

Possible duplicate post, original seems to have disappeared. If so, sorry !

Ongoing problem . Alarm malfunction message on the dash. Alarm tripping initially but only indicators flashing. When it first happened, removing the fuse for the siren stopped it happening. I put the fuse back in after a few weeks, but the alarm tripping did not reappear !! Strangely in a recent short spell of hot weather, the alarm malfunction message disappeared , but has come back. Everything pointed to the alarm siren, in particular the battery pack which is apparently a common failure..

Well, I took the siren out. Opened the metal case using an angle grinder on the welds and on one of the retaining tabs, so it could be levered clear of the plastic. Levered that clear.

Managed to open it ( two halves tightly glued / clipped together).

Battery looks fine, no leakage. Checked the voltage; 2.6V. The battery pack label indicates it is nominally 2.4V (550mAh) , so it looks like it is fully charged and the fault lies elsewhere.

I put my code reader on the car. I get these error codes, which cannot be erased.

B1D1787. Battery backed sounder. Bus signal/ message failure. Missing message

Fuel system/ combined system
U016700. Lost communication with vehicle immobilizer control module

Engine control module
U016700. Lost communication with vehicle immobilizer control module

Does anyone know where the vehicle immobilizer control module is located?

Any other ideas?

My wife summed it up well tonight.

Very fast car and still goes and handles OK.

ABS issue sorted at little cost.

Totally reliable.

If someone wants to steal it, very difficult without the key.

Chill out and ignore the irritation !.
