Post Hello, and V40 R-Design towbar cut-out

Hi everyone. I'm new...my wife just bought a 2017 V40 D2 R Design. This forum has been useful as a guide already. I was over the moon to discover this car hasn't got the adblue tank under the boot floor, much more space than an identical model that was 6 months younger!

We pick it up next week. After lots of painful haggling (I don't know how the dealers have the patience with all the back and forth over a couple of hundred quid) we have managed to get a Volvo (Brinks?) towbar included...still more expensive than an independent but I'd rather it was ready to go for our bike rack rather than messing about the following weekend.

Its a detachable p/n 30756548 and they implied the bumper cut was not visible, but I noticed the invoice shows a cover plate. I've seen some XC variants with a huge cover, this looks fairly substantial from the diagram (enough to cover the electrics?).

Just wondered if I should cancel the towbar if there are alternatives that attach vertically without a bumper cut? I'm not hugely precious if the cover is fairly discreet but I got stung with a detachable on my Honda Civic that has a huge receiver boss on show.

Any pics of this towbar (and cover?) on the R Design would be appreciated!

Towball on my 2014 R Design. The cover is easy to install and remove- I'll send a photo later.
