I couldn't be arsed with any of that, just use my iPhone and Apple Music, create playlists in that and then just tell Siri what playlist to use. Pain free

Why do people bother with USB media?
I just connect my phone up with BT and use play lists I have on my phone, also then I can use it to connect everything I want to listen music from. Am I missing something using USB over BT |

Also using bluetooth eats my battery - at least I think it does.

Because I have 30-40 albums I like a lot on a USB drive. Previous two cars -A8 and Evoque I just used to plug in the USB drive and downloaded them to the cars hdd and used their playlist, shuffle or jukebox facilities which met all my requirements. I don't have any music on my phone.

Same issue with MY2020 XC90 (HarmonKardon)
Cannot get playlists to work; tried all the suggestions (no leading slash), using backslash rather than forward slash etc.
XC90 MY2020 (2 days old) fails to recognise the existence of the playlists (in the root directory) Anyone got this to work - if so can they post a sample playlist Quote:

Volvo XC90 (MY202) Playlists [Fixed]
After much playing, I can now export my iTunes playlists to a USB stick.
It is attached; simply format a USB stick as FAT32 and name it either "Volvo Music" or "Car Music" [This stops you accidentally overwriting another USB Drive] And run the attached VBS script - the "status" window is a little Clunky" in VBS but seems to work fine. If you need to have UNIX separators rather than DOS then you can start it with the switch UNIX. i.e. iTunesPlaylistExportToVolvo5.vbs UNIX It also works for my wife's Ford Sync3. Enjoy |

Thanks Paul, used this with a 64gig Sandisk formatted in NTFS and it worked fine. Plugged in my '68 plate V60 and playlists tab showed up under the USB app, played fine, great stuff.

I posted my solution using good old MS-DOS on THIS THREAD which worked fine on my 2019 S60.
