Just to add to this:

On the 21st of September I'm taking delivery of an Inscription Pro T5 (Fusion Red), charcoal leather, Xenium including BLIS etc, Harman Kardon, heated rear seats, 4 zone climate, privacy glass, smartphone integration and 5 spoke diamond cut alloys.

This was ordered on July 26th, so just over 8 weeks.

Picked mine up today. Got 1.5 miles down the road and the horrendous grinding and knocking noise had got so unbearable and the burning smell so worrying that we pulled over and called the dealership. We’ve been sent home in an XC40 demonstrator and two hours later our brand new car is still sitting in a lay-by on the bypass. Severely unimpressed.

Not a good start to a new relationship, that is something than any reputable dealer should have found/rectified as part of the PDI test drive check!!
I am picking up my new one in 10 days time & would be interested to know what was the fault.

The backplate on the brake, apparently. As you say, basic PDI check. It was glaringly obvious about 200 yards down the road the first time I took my foot off the go pedal, so struggling to believe the PDI was done thoroughly.

To add insult to injury, I’ve got a PCP White XC40 until tomorrow morning. Better than walking, though, I suppose. Just ;-)

Way hey. Ordered May, locked out end July, delivered to dealership next Tuesday. Deeply excited. So Volvo have met the schedule they told me on ordering.

Regretting not speccing 360 camera already having developed a bit of a stiff neck. Next time!

When I first ordered it was an optional extra with a big price lift due to having to add Bliss as well. Something like £1500 add on which I thought was a bit ott on a near £60k car - so hope you are right!

When is your delivery date?

So picking up next week. Any good inspection points / action points to specify in talking to dealer. My last new buy (not from volvo) they had left the tyres overinflated by 10 psi all round. Didn't even bother to check for a few weeks after assuming dealer had checked all this.

Bit overwhelmed with all bells and whistles in manual. Think I'm going to switch all non standard systems off and drive like a "normal" car and then introduce things like proximity warnings etc one by one to see what effect they have....but then again maybe I'll switch the lot on!

Any bits/corners of metalwork rubbing together, rattle on known panals etc . Can't abide a rattle!

Not according to the My19 Edition 2 spec - optional extra on all models - and included as part of the Xenium Pack.
