Default Bosch Blue Coil Install Questions

Since my ignition switch is bad on my 1964 Wagon, I have decided to replace it with a new Bosch Porsche 356 ignition switch, as well as a Bosch blue coil. Just wanna get everything I need for the job.

Are all Bosch blue coils the same?

The plan is to remove the ignition switch and coil, and replace with the new ignition switch and wire it to the coil with 14 gauge wire.

The Bosch coil should be a simple swap from the old coil, correct? Wiring should be just putting th positive wires from the old coil onto positive of the new coil and the same for the negative side. Then mounting it.

Ballast...this always confused me. Do I need a resistor in the wiring? I think my car has points, but I will either go Pertronix or 123 Tune in the future.
