Thats good insurance but even better is to fit a right angle connector from an 1800 installed with a good quality braided flexy hose. This should terminate by the firewall where a T can be fitted allowing an oil pressure switch and gauge connection.

Nice! That appeals to a geek like me. Sounds like an end to having to replace burnt out leads every so often.

However, I can't find anything about your right angle connector there. Is that definitely to do with the oil pressure light switch, or does an 1800 have something extra, like an oil temperature gauge thingamer?

Think I've answered my own question there!

I was talking about the oil pressure light switch, but I see your oil temp switch is located down under the manifold too so worth doing as well!

Good call there Russ re fitting a T block on the bulkhead as an alternative to one on the block. First time I've seen that mentioned. There is a Volvo one as fitted to the late ES shown here. 1 out for oil pressure and 1 out for oil pressure gauge or switch.

Ah! I understand now. That is brilliant seeing as the location is a complete wotsit.

By the way, something I recommend to any Amazon owner is to check your oil pressure light comes on when you switch on your ignition. Easy to overlook! They're about as reliable as the pressure sensitive brake light switch and the same as on a Beetle where you HAVE TO have it working.

Been meaning to fit an oil pressure gauge (and volts, water temp) to my Amazon for a while... now I've seen that these adaptors are out there, I'm gonna have to stop faffing around and get on with it!

Oil pressure light/amps come on with my ignition - no problems there!

Just got my MOT to get through today...

I just thought to myself after posting on another thread that if these manifolds are hotter, there's another thing I'd recommend: polyurethane upper wishbone bushes

Heat from the manifold make the old rubber bushes deteriorate at an alarming rate resulting in vague straight ahead.

I expect you've already done them though, because the standard ones are particularly short lived.
