Default Ordinary Wheel Nuts

Ordinary wheel nuts please. The ordinary simple open ended ones about 15mm long that were supplied by Volvo with steel wheeled 240s when new. And they will fit easily under the centre caps of alloys.

Thanks. Stephen

Thanks that would be very good.

I do see nuts on eBay at times but I always worry about them. I do tend to worry as everyone must have noticed. I worry in case the eBay ones are not specifically 240 nuts. The 240 thread not the thread for some other RWD Volvo. And the 240 contact angle

That's why I'm keen to buy through the forum.

Mine are off a 740, I've used 240 nuts on 740's without issue so wouldn't expect there to be an issue going the other way?

Thanks. I've just checked my emails from when I was buying some wheels that came from a 940. I was told that the 940 has different threads so the forum member selling wheels to me could not help with nuts. Yours are from a 740 and as you say you have used 240 nuts on a 740 that sounds cushti, good to go.

20 wheel nuts would still be very good. Say 22 would give me a couple of spares. Just in case one rolls away out of sight.

I think I have a tub full in my shed too, if you are still short. Will have to confirm.

Default 240 v. 740 v. 940 wheel nuts and studs

There seems to be a problem. So at the moment I am asking specifically for 240 wheel nuts please.

To explain the little that I "know".

Skandix list studs for the 100, 200 & 1800 (one is genuine Volvo) and different studs for the 700/900. I think that might be definitive that there is an issue. http://skandix.de/en/spare-parts/sus...heel-stud/552/

EDIT: And this is the Skandix listing for wheel nuts. Also different between 100/200/1800 v. 700/900. http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...l-nut/553/?s=r

And.

It appears that a 1/2" UNF nut will fit an m12 x 1.25 stud, but, only make contact at the edges of the thread. So NI your 240 nuts on a 740 might have been a lucky escape? I don't know. But I have been pointed to this. http://www.trailersailerplace.com.au...p?f=11&t=13548 It's about a problem with a trailer wheel studs and nuts. The web page AND the comments are interesting.

240 nuts are 1/2 UNF. I wouldn't mix imperial with metric.
