S40 boot problem

Today iv tried to get in my boot and it won't open locked and unlocked several times but still no joy when I press the boot button on the handle can hear the micro switch working but can't here it locking or unlocking any ideas?

There is another common problem on the S40 where the wire loom leading to the switch chaffs and splits which obviously stops the switch from working. You may to loot at the wire to the switch itself.

It could be the microswitch but more likely the loom which goes from the boot lid to a connector under the left side of the hat shelf , about £30 from your dealer .

Ok will check that iv tested for power and nothing but not sure they won't be till try and open it checked fuses but nothing out the miss

Yesterday I got in my boot by taking the latch off. I taken to plug off the catch and have to lots of power. I then stopped down the handle/ micro switch and on the plug there is 3wires 1 earth and 1 for power side lights and other for micro switch but I only ever got 1 power could this be the fault

yer change boot loom there only 30 quid from Volvo

Hi, I'm experiencing the same boot-lock problem on my 06 Volvo V50! Though somewhat bizarre my tailgate will only open when using the yellow lights-on button on the key-fob!
Has anyone else had this problem and, without the expense of taking it to a dealer, is there a d.i.y solution?
