Default 2001 (Y) V70 T5 Auto - East Midlands £1500ono

For Sale!

2001 (Y) Volvo V70 (Pre-facelift Phase 2) estate. She is a T5, automatic, and comes with a tow bar and 13 pin electrics (I have an adapter for standard 7-pin as well).

The car is my old mans. he has replaced this with an XC90 as its easier for him to get in and out of at his age so he has asked me to sell the T5. It's generally tidy but has a few blemishes I will detail in a second.

Stats:

2.3lts Turbo T5
automatic
MOT until July 2016
116,000 miles
Estate
Tow Bar
Roof Rails
Heated Leather Seats
Retractable Load Cover
All Electric Windows
CD player / Cassette Radio
Cruise Control
Central Locking
Air-Con (does just about get cold so could do with a re-gas but it doesn't really get warm enough over here to warrant doing this close to Winter but can be done at cost if needed)
Alloys
4 New tyres
Good Spare
Recently had drop links and various other little bits done ahead of the last MOT

The car's last major outing was 3 months down on the South Coast of France with a stop at Le Mans on the way back and it never missed a beat.

OK - the bad bits. The alloys are tatty, no hiding that, but it has 4 new tyres with about 1000 miles on them so good to go. There are a few scratching on the corners of the bumpers as you might come to expect of its age but the most notable is a mark in the middle of the bonnet (see photos). I have tried to T-cut this buggar out but it wont move

Interior is pretty tidy - I have given it a thorough clean and treated the leather and replaced a few bits of trim that were worn out. One rear light unit has been replaced as it was cracked so all looking tidy now.

Looking for £1500 or sensible offers just because it has a clean bill of health and 4 new tyres.

The perfect tow car, and a nice big luxury barge of a car for peanuts. I would keep it for myself (Dad did offer it) but I already have an 850 T5 that I use to tow that I have a strange inexplicable emotional attachment to and a T-5R for which my emotional attachment needs no explanation, so decided the V70 must go.

Car is located in the East Midlands. contact me on 07739 321 121 if you want to know more. OK - the most important bit... PICTURES!

very tempting, though I don't tow, so that lets me off the temptation!

Looks great: what's the status on the cambelt? When was it replaced?

Dad says 'done recently'. I've finally found the file for her and it was done at 62k! It's just about due so I will have it done for the new owner with genuine parts (I always use Shemtek who worked magic on my T5 and my T5R!)

62k is a bit premature to have had the first belt done imo,

if it was done at Volvo with new pulleys then its good for may more miles yet i would of thought, not entirely sure when belt 2 should be changed, if Non-Volvo belt is on it now then you may be right to change it.

Belt 1 should of been changed closer to 96k i believe.

All good

Yep - all work up to about 105k was stamped by VOLSAA - a Swedish car specialist (as if the name didn't give that away!) so I assume it was done with OEM parts. Given the mileage and the time since, and the cost, it seems sensible to get it done for piece of mind
Any interest in her?!

Does seem odd. I can only assume it was done as a good will gesture when selling the car maybe? I generally do it as a matter of course when I get a new car that doesn't have a record of it being done to be sure. who knows?! Either way - thanks for the bump on the post!

Elsewhere I have been offered a Peugeot 205 CTi... what a random little car! It's almost tempting but not this time! lol

As it's a 2001 model, the first change was due in 2011 going off years not miles. That could account for the low miles.

Aw man, that looks lovely! My heart skipped a beat there!
I missed out on 1 of these by a bawhair as the guy I was buying it from changed his mind last second as his son wanted a car .. all for the steal of £700! Same age and mileage too but his was silver. I wish I could afford this but it is above my budget even if I made an offer that wasn't insulting.
