Volvo 740 steels/alloys. Which ones fit?

Hi Im the proud new owner of a 740 GLE 1987. She’s in fantastic nick with 73k on the clock. Wheels on the other hand are tired and I’d like to upgrade them. Was going to go for some black steels or black alloys. Struggling to find any online which will fit her. Im not mechanically minded myself so wouldn’t no where to start so have contacted a few places to no avail currently. Any info/help would be great.

There’s a set with good tyres in Stoke-On-Trent on eBay. They’re not black but at £200 start they could be a candidate for a colour-change refurb.

Congrats on your 740GLE.

I had a 1986 740GLE Estate in 2002 that had the red cloth interior including plastic trim.

Originally had steel wheels painted silver with chrome outer rings and a chrome centre cap. On 14 inch if I remember rightly. Bought 15 inch Virgo alloys from a 240GLT off Ebay and gave my Dad my old wheels and wheel trims for his old 244. He was delighted as his tyres needed replacement and these were quite new.

Also upgraded the manual steel sunroof to electric.

Lots of wheels - particularly RWD Volvo ones will fit. You need PCD 108mm, ET (offset) about 20mm and about a 5-6J width rim, probably 15" (16" would be fine as well, but aren't so common).
