1972 1800ES for sale. Non-runner

I've owned this car since 1986 although it has been off the road and in dry storage since my divorce in 1994! It was running (although not very well) before I took it off the road. It's currently stored in a workshop just outside Kendal in Cumbria. Sadly the owner of said workshop passed away on New Year's Day so his family need me to get it out of there. It had been my intention to get this friend to restore the car, but he never actually got round to it.

The car is more or less complete but needs some attention to the bodywork and the engine (possibly just the distributor) and the last paint job was not that good.

I was looking for offers of around £700 if anyone's interested.

Here's a picture of the car from when it was last on the road, in about 1994. (I had to Photoshop out an old girlfriend, hence the appearance of a much more recent Porsche in the picture!)

It has a good quality stainless steel exhaust system, bought through the Owners' Club and a 3/4 length Webasto sunroof. All the box sections were Waxoyled when they were repaired so should still be fairly sound, I hope!

And the mileage, as far as I can remember was still showing under 80k though I've no idea how accurate this actually is. It had about 8 owners before me.

As my friend's funeral (see above) was only yesterday, I'm waiting a few days before contacting his wife about getting access to the car. I'll be in touch with anyone who has contacted me shortly regarding arranging viewing times.

Hi to all who contacted me with a view to possibly buying my car. On the one hand I'm sorry to say that the car is currently no longer for sale; on the other hand I'm happy to report that the reason being my wife has given me permission to keep it, as long as we get rid of her BMW Z3! Anybody looking for a Z3?
