5,100 pounds. I very good price for that car. Seller must be pleased. Makes me wonder what mine would fetch.....

i saw the car and thought it was worth about 3500 . the seller should be very happy. it looked better in the photos than it was in real life.

Thanks for the remarks. It took me 10 years off and on to get it up to spec. All the green in the interior is my idea. It should be differnt shades of grey. The darkest grey with silver threads in it. Didn´t look right in the car I thought so all the -fabrics- apart from the head lining are in green leather. Got some nice period bits in it as well, having been at it for over 20 years. Volvo made a thing about their cars being able to convert to a bed. How to do this was always in the instruction book. This disappeared when head rests came in (1971 I think). In the PV 444/544 there were 2 types of -kits- to help getting the seats in the right postition to make a bed. They did leaflets as well showing how to do it. The first version (which I have) entailed having some feet made and getting the -leather poppers- for the pivot between the front seat and it´s back rest. Works really well...

This is from the 1956 brochure...It shows the second type of kit (two rods instead of the wooden legs)

Its back on classiccarsforsale at £4500 ono so the e-bay 'buyer' apparently did not proceed !
