Default Coming back to Volvo, V70 & LPG questions

Hello everyone,

I used to have a S40 T4 around 3 years ago, I now have a Jeep Cherokee 4.0 that runs on LPG, I'm wanting another Volvo as the last one was the most reliable car I ever had and Jeep parts are killing me.

Anyway I need an estate car for the dog and am looking at a V70 that's already been converted to LPG.

I have found a 2.4, but the lady owner doesn't know if it's the 140 bhp or the 170bhp. Without doing a HPI check how can I tell it's the 170bhp, she says it doesnt say on her paperwork, if anyone has any idea please let me know.

Also does the 2.4 run ok on LPG, she says she has a certificate for the install, is there anything I need find out?, i.e. bad makes of LPG systems I should avoid.

Is there much differnce in performance between a 2.5 20v, or 2.4 170bhp, why is there 2 models so similar?

Thanks for any advise you can give me.

Cheers Matt

Hi,

Best thing would be to get the vehicle registration (and/or the chassie number) and go to your local friendly neighbourhood dealer as they will have most of the info on the car on their system.

I did this checking V90's and found out the only difference in my case was the engine type. I suspect that the engine type for this one will be different betwix the 140bhp and 170bhp models..

Regards the lpg system see if you can find out what make equipment and who installed it. There are many makes on the market and some are much better quality than others. If you pm or phone me (01407 832290) I'll do my best to advise you about it.
