Auto Wipers
On my 2011 V60 Drive, my auto sensing wipers seem to have become less sensitive than they used to be. Previously, I would probably have the sensitivity 'dial' down a click or two, and that would be sufficient to keep the windscreen clear, but lately the windscreen gets a little wetter than I would like before it decides to wipe the screen and the sensitivity 'dial' is turned up to the top.
Any suggestions on getting this to improve ? Is may just be just an age thing, or perhaps the sensor needs a little clean, but I don't particularly want to be dismantling the sensor array, and mucking something up. |

Have you got a sensitivity dial or is it an interval setting on intermittent wipe?

I'm pretty sure that's just for the intermittent wipe setting.
I believe there's a service action to clean the sensor area, so I guess it must get dirty.

The dial does both. If you've got your stalk in the off position, and the auto button on, the dial changes the sensitivity of the auto. Try it next time it rains.
If you have the stalk up a notch, in intermittent, the dial adjusts the frequency, of intermittent. Anyway, if it needs cleaned, does anyone know how ? |

See attached relevant page from the manual detailing the function of the dial for both sensitivity /frequency for intermittent or auto

A main dealer is supposed to do this as part of the service, not sure if yours has been there lately?

Again, if anyone can assist in how I would go about this, without breaking it, or requiring a dealer to reset/re-calibrate something I've disconnected in the process, it would be appreciated. |
