  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default Oil filler cap blowing off

I have a v50 2.0 d oil filler cap is blowing off/coming loose I have replaced PCV replaced oil and filter stopped the problem for a while now it's doing it again, anyone else had this problem where should I look to diagnose the problem?

Had that with my Anglia in the 60s, blocked crank case breather. I doubt that's a lot of help though!

Had it in the garage for a few other things to be done yesterday so I asked my mechanic to have a look around for a blocked breather or anything else that can cause the problem turns out the grooves that lock the oil filler cap in place are completely worn out. Seems I was looking into it too much.
