I highly recommend Motogo in Beverley, near York. I just had my v70 2.5tdi in to have a new cambelt water pump and tensioner, oil change, filter, and brake pads. The chap who runs the place, Johnathan, worked at a volvo main dealer for a good number of years and is very helpful. Im not local to the garage so they gave me a lift into town and collected me when it was complete. The chap also fitted me a new fuel filter for free which I thought was pretty nice. All in for cambelt, diesel pump belt, water pump, tensioner and front and rear brake pads, all genuine Volvo, £550 inc VAT fitted which I thought in relation to another nameless specialist who wanted in the region of £700 just for the belt work is pretty damn good. Another recommendation for VMS. After being shocked by main dealer prices I had to look for a volvo specialist near Newbury/Oxford. VMS was the only volvo specialist I could find. I am glad I went there as they are friendly and helpful and prices are more than reasonable. They've also got VIDA.

Hi Everyone
I have a 1993 Vovlo 940 Estate and I live in St Austell in Cornwall.
I have not received very good service from my local franchised Volvo dealer who does not see keen to work on the car because of its age.
I've had a look at the non franchised garages list but the nearest is in Penzance which is quite a distant from me.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a reliable non franchised garage/individual more local to St Austell. ?

I will shortly move to London. I have a 9 years old XC70, up to now always serviced by the Volvo dealer. London dealer prices are too expensive for me. Can somebody recommend an independent garage?

Friend of mine lives in Sale, Manchester and their V70 (2.4 n/a 170) needs some care and attention.

Anyone got any reports about either of these two facilities:

Cross Street Garage, Sale (on the list of non-franchise garages but no feedback I can find)

or

INDEPENDENT VEHICLES LIMITED, Unit 3, Manway Business Park , off Canal Road, Timperley (not on any list but friends had found them by chance and they do have a small website http://www.independentvltd.co.uk/).

Both are close buy and convenient for them.

Most recent service was apparently done at Kwik-Fit (!!). Other than that they were thinking of going to the main dealership in Warrington. I know there's the likes of Hallmark in Stockport but they really need someone more local to them if possible.
