brother in law had a 440 once and it was tempermental about bulbs if you got the wattage wrong it would show fault light, try checking the bulbs against volvo specs

When one bulb goes you have to change both sides.
otherwise the bulb the other side is older and the warning system detects a slight difference on the older bulb. The bulb failure system can only work by both sides of the car being equal.

Not sure on your model.
V70 does the lot with exception of rear fog i think.

Would think its indicator stop and tail lights side lights and main and dipped beams wouldnt think reverse or fogs would be covered. First check side/tail lights cause if memory serves me correctly these were not your average 5w bulbs but something like 6 or 7w, something obscure anyway.

Had this on the 740. It requires the same resistance in/on either side of the circuit or you'll get the light showing. Sure it covers the normal lights, as in side, headlight and tails.
I undid all connectors to the headlights and cleaned them, checked earths and the bulbs. Got rid of the light. Ended up it being a bulb connector letting the side down....
