Reading the last couple of posts, it seems the dealers are simply charging the batteries up but not getting to the actual cause of the problem?

Do Volvo and the dealers know the issue but not yet have a fix, and having to do their best to keep users happy in the meantime?

My car goes in for the new tyres (finally) and a knocking from the suspension to be looked at next Wednesday, I fear a software update while its in might bring this problem to my vehicle.

Are you having the contisilent tyres fitted?...im waiting fir mine to be done. My dealer says they are on back order all over europe?..are you having to contribute?...just tell them to leave the update alone for now...it doesnt seem to improve anything...just causes this problem. I never had this battery issue until the November update. ..lol..

Yes, my dealer got the tyres in before Christmas, but then we were away over the Christmas period and in January we've only been able to have the car in on a Wednesday. Was due to go in a couple of Wednesday's back, but dealer called to say they were still awaiting a couple of suspension parts from Sweden which they were ordering in case they were needed to sort the rattling (I'd told them about the strut replacement TJ).

Dealer have been brilliant, they are picking the car up next Wednesday.

I don't have to contribute towards the tyres (car has done jus short of 8.5k).

Ok thanks...my dealer had the car in to check the tyre tread depths in December, i stupidly asked for the update on the senus and now have the battery issues...volvo have said i need to contribute 25% for the tyres...but i have done over 1000 miles since then..lol..but i will stick to my guns over this...its not my fault it has taken so long to source the tyres...let me know how it goes re the noise etc?. Its the one main negative i have with the car. Its a weird rumble noise over certain tarmac i have my main gripe with....otherwise i love it...and i find the sensus internet to be slow...ie spotify and tune in...but other than that its the mutts nutts...lol

Went on hol for a week, car parked at Manchester airport, arrived back Monday night 11pm, car would not pre heat on the app or remote start, I thought, oh no I am going to be stranded freezing in the car park and the wife is working early next day.
Arrived at the car and it opened and started no problem, drove out of the carpark and when I stopped at junctions the start/stop kicked in so battery must have been at a decent level.
Pleased. I did not touch the app at all on holiday as I did not want to wake the car up.

Following on from other comments, I did not contribute anything to the contisilent tyres.

Thanks for the info. I think I heard on Swedespeed that it is going through Volvo first. On it's own, I agree the Spotify app is unusable. I use it through carplay now with pre downloaded tracks.

Got my car back yesterday after the dealers had had it for two days regarding the Low Battery warnings.

The technician said he had rolled back the software as per the US TJ (the one I left for him and Volvo UK deny knowledge of). He thought that the VoC Remote Engine Start would not work but so far every thing seems to be operating correctly.

Will be interesting to see how it continues but here's hoping.

Thats interesting as i sent the TJ to my dealer this morning (dropped the car in this evening) and they said they would need to check if that TJ was suitable for use outside NA as there was nothing on the UK system as you indicate. It will come down to the variants/submodels listed on the TJ as to whether it can be used on individual cars.

Thanks for the info

Razer: when I talked to my technician he said that he had called Volvo UK Technical Dept who knew nothing about the TJ, after some discussion the person he was taking to told him to go ahead with the implementation of the TJ. He rang me because he thought the rollback might stop the VoC Remote Engine Start working - I am pleased to say it hasn't and RES has worked OK today.

It seems to have worked but it is very early days so far, when they changed the battery at the beginning of January it took a few days before the "Low Battery" warning reappeared.
