Default 850 Saloon 2.5 10v, Manual, 86k, 1 Prev Owner (N.Ireland)

2.5 10v, manual, late 97 (98 in the log book), 86k and recent service by myself at 83k which includes new NGK plugs, OEM Bougicord HT leads, new timing belt, new tensioner wheel, new water pump, new tensioner bushing, engine flush and oil change, powerflex engine top mount, BMC DIA intake (id like to keep this but its negotiable), new fuel filter (@ 86k), new front discs and pads, 2 sets of alloys.

1 previous owner, Sonichi CD/DVD/USB/Ipod/MP3 headunit with remote, everything works, driving great, no rattles/squeaks, its got tax for just shy of 6 months and MOT till feb and should sail thru next MOT, if i still have her come feb ill put it thru MOT.

tan half leather interior in good condition. no rust or rot anywhere on the car. has locking wheel bolts, immobiliser, stock interior glass break sensor, all 3 keys for the car and working remote central locking keyfob. heated seats, electric everything, adjustable steering column, etc, etc..

bad bits are 2 dings and some scratches, spoiler needs re-laquered (getting this done in jan if she dont sell before then) and check engine light is on reading code 4-4-2 "air pump intermittant fault" tho i have looked into this and its an easy enough fix and does not affect the car running or driving in any way apart from slightly higher emissions before the engine has fully warmed up.

pics of the car:

£1100 ono as is. will be looking more after T5 alloys get new tyres and are fitted, spoiler gets re-laquered and the air pump fault is fixed so act fast and get an xmas bargain. between purchasing the car and buying the parts to service her it stands me well over the asking price.

only reason for sale is quite simply... its not rear wheel drive which breaks my heart because aside from that its a great car and will go on for years and years to come.

also the reg may be of value to someone with a 911 or 911 GT2.

I've seen this car in the flesh, it looks every bit as well as it does in these pictures.
Good luck with the sale lad

also may i add a ferry across the pond for all you guys in engerland isnt too expensive

id also consider a swap or px (cash either way) for a manual (no autos) rear wheel drive car and may be willing to meet if so (even if ur in england). im looking for a bmw 320/323/325/328i, bmw 520/525/528/530/535/540i, mercedes 190e/e300 (2.0 or bigger), rwd ford (2.0 or bigger, capri, sierra, escort, granada,etc..), volvo 240/340/360/740/760/960, toyota carolla, supra, etc.., nissan skyline gtst/silvia/200sx/180sx/300zx, mitsubishi starion, etc.. etc.. basically consider anything RWD with at bit of poke.

even tho i currently have her up for sale im going to finish some work i have been meaning to do to her and make sure shes perfect for her next MOT.

shes not up till feb but i want her to be in MOT-able condition incase a date looming might put off a buyer, in which case ill put her thru an MOT (if not ill take off the cost of booking a test date from the asking price).

the stuff im going to finish off:
  • replace reverse light switch (not an MOT requirement)
  • sort out the air pump system which is causing the check engine light to come on (not MOT requirement and doesnt affect the running of the car or pose any danger to the engine but the light in the dash is annoying me & may put a potential buyer off, i saved the diagnostics printout stating that it is the air pump causing the light to come on and not something serious)
  • get the spoiler re-laquered
  • get the 850 T5 wheels fitted with 4 new tyres and on the car (unsure if i will get them sprayed anthracite or not as they are in good nick as is)
  • change the fuel filter (have been putting it off what with the recent freezing/wet weather)
  • replace front rubber brake pipes (will need these for MOT)
the above mentioned stuff wont affect the current price of £1100 im looking for the car, it will have the work above done or if a buyer wants her before its all done i would be willing to lower the price according to what hasnt been done and what it would have cost me to do.

secondly if there is no interest at the price she currently is i will just hold onto her and continue subtly modifying her.

the planned mods are:
  • gutting the spare cat pipe i have for her and getting a custom cat-back mated to it (will keep the standard system and cat pipe should the next owner want it re-fitted)
  • lowering the car (mainly concerned with the front end, if i cant find 850R or 850 T5/R front springs/shocks ill go aftermarket on all 4 corners)
  • yellow lamin x film on the front fogs to tint them yellow
  • respray the 850 T5 alloys i have for her in anthracite
  • possibly replace front corner lights with new OEM ones or replace headlight and corners with aftermarket halo/projector type lights
  • possibly fit an "eggcrate" 850 front grille (much more sporty looking)
  • possibly fit uprated & adjustable mitsubishi evo front drop links (heard thru the grapevine they fit perfect and OEM front links like to flex slightly on the 850)
  • possibly fit an OEM volvo front strut brace (front brace is meant to drasticly improve the sharpness of the front end on the 850)
the mods above, however, will affect the price id let her go at hence holding off on these till i see if there is any interest in her at present.
