Dead turbo?
so turned on the car, v50 D5, and engine service urgent came up and car has drastically reduced power. Garage guy managed to have a quick check and said the that the turbo actuator wont engage.
so, what the odds its a dead turbo? any estimates the price or ideas what the issue |

thanks, but yeah im not the sort for actually opening it up myself and testing. i dont deal well with getting dirty, even as a child.

Turbo won't engage if it's in limp mode. There should be an error stored for what's caused the limp mode. I doubt it's the turbo.

It won't be the turbo, be something like a duff sensor - which then disables the turbo.
Turbo's fail in a more dramatic and obvious way. The car needs plugging into a Volvo specific diagnostic code reader i.e. VIDA or Dealer-level equipment.
